Outcome

Leaf Loft Botanicals launched its first online store in the midst of a global pandemic and completely sold out of their entire inventory.

Impact

The owners of Leaf Loft Botanicals realized their dream of opening an exotic plant store which could serve anyone in the country. It quickly generated thousands in monthly revenue. They’ve since found it necessary to focus on keeping inventory in stock.

The Backstory

Leaf Loft Botanicals started in 2019 when two founders, Kelsey and Austin, decided to focus on connecting their people with the perfect plants, at the perfect price.

Together, they built a company on the belief that every home has the opportunity to be a unique and LIVING space. A home inspired by nature. A place of peace and relaxation.

When they approached the Wabbits, that was their vision.

Their in-house design team came with a visual direction mapped out and asked us to review, suggest any modifications, and then build a system that could meet their internal requirements.

"In our first day, with a small audience, we still made several hundred dollars in profit within the first hour of launching. Now, less than one year of consistent growth later, we just finished our best month ever with $7,500 profit!"
Austin Budlovich
Co-founder, Leaf Loft Botanicals

Approach:

Phase 1:

Visual Direction

The owners of Leaf Loft Botanicals realized their dream of opening an exotic plant store which could serve anyone in the country. It quickly generated thousands in monthly revenue. They’ve since found it necessary to focus on keeping inventory in stock.

Phase 2:

MVP site

We built a site around the idea that home plant care brought with it a sense of peace and order. Doing so makes the home feel alive… as long as the plants remain alive.

Naturally, the site features a store with a wide inventory. Yet, rather than lead with the call to make a purchase, the team at Leaf Loft wisely decides to give value up front, in the form of easily accessible free guides that don’t require an opt-in of any kind.

Phase 3:

Shop Integration

The shop management team needed an easy way to make new product listings, and modify any existing products when stock changed.

Wabbit created a template-based system which allowed any store manager to create new product, and have that data instantly display in a beautifully designed layout, without any additional effort on their part.

"The Wabbits not only built us an incredible site, they helped us completely reframe the ways we approach the growth of our company"
Kelsey Shaffer
Co-founder, Leaf Loft Botanicals

Closing Thoughts

Within a year of opening their digital doors, the founders of Leaf Loft Botanicals had reached a milestone where their business reliably generated thousands in profits per month.

Hitting that milestone took a commitment to customer education, a giving-first attitude, and a team dedicated to embracing new technology today to improve their business growth tomorrow.

Wabbit was thrilled to work on this project, thrilled with the results, and thrilled to learn a ton about caring for our personal home forests.
