Tome theme · Coaches, consultants and authors
Folio. Built to turn readers into clients.
For coaches, therapists, consultants, authors and speakers: anyone whose business is themselves, and whose clients read before they get in touch. The site reads like a book by its author, with notes in the margins, and every page leads to one ask: a first conversation.

Palettes
Four palettes. Pick the one that reads like you.
Every palette as the whole home page, side by side. Scroll inside any of them to see it top to bottom. Under the colors, the sections stay the same.

Captured from the demo at 1440px. Marion Thale, a fictional coach and writer.
The light palettes have no dark bands; sections change tone instead. Each has a derived dark mode, and Lamplight has a derived light page.
The sections
What each section does for a practice of one.
These are crops from the demo, all in Deckle. How does this person think, how would we work together, and how do I start?

Notes in the margin, in your own voice
You write in your own margins: an aside in italic, a short exercise marked "Try this", or a source with enough detail to find it. On a wide screen each note sits beside its paragraph, tied to it by a small number; on tablets and phones it folds in after the paragraph it belongs to.

Two ways to work, side by side
A defined piece of work and an ongoing relationship, compared row by row: what's included, how long it runs, who it suits and the starting price. The path you recommend carries an accent rule instead of a badge, and on a phone the two become tabs. "Write to me" on either path opens the form with that path already chosen.

The Reading Room
Essays, talks, podcast appearances and the book in one filed index, each entry numbered, dated and typed, with its reading or running time. The newest piece leads. Essay dates and reading times come from the posts themselves, so nobody keeps them up by hand, and the index ends on a one-field sign-up for your newsletter.

Essays with a running head
Essays are ordinary Posts, and a margin note is a block you place after the paragraph it belongs to. Each essay opens with its dates and an "In short" summary in the margin, and a running head across the top counts the minutes left as you read, worked out from the essay's word count. It ends on one "next" piece and the same closing as the home page.

A first conversation, beside a face
Every page ends on a portrait, a short note in the first person and one button, "Book a first call", which opens your own scheduling page in a new tab. Under it is a short form for people who'd rather write, with your reply time stated above and below it, and your signature closes the section.
That's what a visitor sees. Here's what you get to build it.
What's in the package, and what it's built from.
Navbar 7, set static so it scrolls away with the page, with your name in the serif and "Book a first call" as the one button. Footer 7 on its own muted tone, carrying where you work, your memberships as plain text and the newsletter link, with no call-to-action band above it.
Deckle, Clay, Heath and Lamplight. The first three are light pages with a derived dark mode; Lamplight is a designed dark page with a derived light one, and it opens dark.
Piazzolla for headings, essays, margin notes and figures, and Alegreya Sans for running copy, buttons, forms and labels. Italic is kept for a person speaking: the spoken line in the hero, quotes, your own margin notes and the signature. Both ship inside the package under the SIL Open Font License, so the site makes no third-party font request.
The portrait hero with one line of proof under its buttons, small page numbers on every section opener, the margin notes, the Two Ways ledger and its fit note, a quiet stat band, endorsements, dated chapters, the Reading Room, the FAQ and the closing beside a portrait.
Posts with a margin-note block in the editor (an aside, an exercise, a source or a footnote), an epigraph, a drop cap, an "In short" summary, a running head with reading progress and one "next" teaser. The notes and the essay body come with Editorial Blocks; the essay page template is part of the Tome Starter.
Name, email, which way of working (a piece of work, ongoing, or not sure yet) and what's going on. "Write to me" on either path opens it with that path chosen and a line saying so, and the newsletter sign-up takes one field.
One slow rise-and-fade as each section arrives, held until the fonts have loaded and played once, and a running head that fills as you read. With reduced motion turned on, neither moves and the running head shows a plain "N min read". An optional paper grain on Deckle and Clay.
None.
What it's built from
A theme owns no blocks of its own. It restyles blocks from the Tome packs below.

|---|---|---|---|
| Hero, endorsements, FAQ | High Impact Hero, Testimonial, FAQ | Marketing Starter | Free |
| Stat band | Proposal Stat Strip | Proposal Pack | Free |
| Reading Room, "next" teaser | Archive (filed variant) | Content Writer | Free |
| Two Ways, fit note, chapters | Practice Modes, Fit Prose, Dated Ledger | Dossier Blocks | Included |
| Margin notes, essay body | Annotated Page, Margin Note | Editorial Blocks | Included |
| Closing and form | Contact | Agency Essentials | Included |
| Essay header, running head | Article Hero (margin variant) | Extras | Included |
Buying the theme includes every pack marked Included above, so you can build the pages exactly the way the demo has them. The theme also restyles any other Tome block you add.

We set it up
We install Folio on a new site and replace Marion Thale with you: your two ways of working and their prices, your story, your writing, your scheduling link and your own photos. You get a written proposal with the price before any work starts. If your profession restricts client testimonials, we leave that section out, and the section numbers close the gap on their own.
